Six IWF Ireland members travelled to the IWF conference in Helsinki – Karen Erwin, Rachel Hussey, Vivienne Jupp, Paula Kilbane, Cathy McCaul and Margaret Sweeney. It was a very successful (and sold-out) conference, attended by over 500 IWF members. Evening events included a welcome event at Helsinki City Hall and dinearounds.
Before the group left for Helsinki, the Finnish Ambassador to Ireland, HE Raili Lahnalampi, invited the Irish delegation for lunch at her residence (as shown in the picture). Ambassador Lahnalampi said “ I think climate change will be a very timely and important theme. Perhaps we will be able to find some even more concrete issues for the Irish - Finnish discussion under the climate change agenda..” The lunch was attended by IWF members along with John FitzGerald adjunct professor of economics at Trinity College.
